Pressure Vessel Steel Plate

16MnDR Low Temperature Pressure Vessel Plate

16MnDR low temperature pressure vessel steel plate for -40C cryogenic storage tanks and LNG equipment.

16MnDR is the low-temperature branch of the Q345 family, built for vessels working down to -40 deg C: the same familiar weldability, plus guaranteed Charpy energy at low temperature and normalized delivery as standard. Cold-region chemical plants and cryogenic storage run on it.

Grades and Standards

  • GB/T 3531 16MnDR
  • Impact class specified at order: different classes correspond to different test temperatures

Sizes and Supply

  • Thickness 8-100 mm, widths 2000-2500 mm
  • Cut-to-size and shell-course beveling available

Delivery Condition and Testing

Normalized delivery, EN 10204 3.1 MTC with the actual low-temperature impact values. Ultrasonic testing to NB/T 47013.3 and simulated post-weld heat treatment tests can be arranged for code vessels.

Where This Plate Goes

  • Cryogenic storage tanks and transport vessels
  • Cold-region process equipment
  • Ethylene and gas separation plants

Questions Buyers Ask

Q: 16MnDR or 09MnNiDR? A: The dividing line is about -40 deg C. Below that, the nickel in 09MnNiDR keeps impact energy up where manganese alone fades.
Q: Does PWHT affect the impact values? A: We run simulated heat treatment tests on request so your fabricator sees the property after treatment, not before.
Include the minimum design temperature in your RFQ - impact class follows from it.
