Stainless Steel Plate
2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Plate
2507 super duplex stainless steel plate for offshore platforms, desalination plants and aggressive chloride environments.
2507 is super duplex: 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 4% molybdenum, PREN above 40. When hot seawater, brine concentrators or aggressive chloride process streams push 2205 to its limit, this is the grade that still says yes. Yield strength lands near 550 MPa - about twice 316L.
Grades and Standards
- ASTM A240 S32750, EN 10088-2 1.4410
- Suitable alternates: S32760 for some specs - confirm with your engineering standard first
Sizes and Stock
- Thickness 3-40 mm, width 1219-2000 mm
- Waterjet cutting preferred; we document heat input control for welded fabrications
Quality Documents
EN 10204 3.1 MTC standard. ASTM G48 method A corrosion test and PMI available for project documentation - desalination and offshore specs usually ask for both.
Where This Plate Goes
- Desalination evaporators and brine lines
- Offshore seawater systems and firewater piping
- Flue gas desulphurization scrubbers
- Chemical tanker tanks for aggressive cargo
Questions Buyers Ask
Q: 2205 or 2507 for seawater above 40 deg C? A: Above roughly 35-40 deg C, 2205 creeps toward its pitting limit and 2507 takes over. The premium buys real margin, not marketing.
Q: Can you supply with third-party witness testing? A: Yes - coordinate the visit before production starts.
Send the design temperature and chloride level with your RFQ and we will confirm the grade honestly - 2507 is not always the right answer.
