304/304L Stainless Steel Plate

Austenitic 304/304L stainless steel plate 3-80mm from TISCO, JISCO mills; 2B, No.1, 8K mirror surfaces for chemical, food and general industrial use.

304/304L is the default austenitic stainless plate: 18-20% chromium, 8-10.5% nickel, and the widest availability of any stainless grade. We keep 3-80 mm plate in stock in 1219, 1500 and 2000 mm widths, No.1 and 2B surfaces. If your drawing just says stainless steel plate, this is normally the grade to price first.

Grades and Standards

  • ASTM A240 (304, 304L), EN 10088-2 (1.4301, 1.4307), GB/T 4237, JIS G4304/4305
  • 304L holds carbon at or below 0.03%, so welded joints stay corrosion-resistant without post-weld annealing

Quality Documents

Every plate ships with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate showing heat number, chemistry and mechanical results. PMI report, hardness test or third-party inspection before loading can be arranged - just tell us when ordering, not after.

Questions Buyers Ask

Q: 304 or 304L - which one do I need? A: If the plate will be welded and you cannot anneal afterwards, take 304L. For non-welded parts or thicker sections, plain 304 costs less and performs the same.
Q: Can I get 2B finish in thick plate? A: 2B is a cold-rolled finish and stays economical up to roughly 8 mm. Above that we offer No.1 (hot rolled, annealed, pickled), which most fabricators grind or pickle locally.
