Custom Alloy Steel Plate
Custom alloy steel plates including die steel and engineering alloy grades supplied to customer specifications and technical agreements.
Beyond the catalog grades, we supply custom alloy plates against drawings or technical agreements: die steels, Cr-Mo-V grades, boron steels and special engineering alloys. Minimums are honest - if your quantity is too small for a mill campaign, we say so and suggest alternatives.
How Custom Orders Work
- You send: grade, standard, chemistry window or drawing, delivery condition, test plan
- We confirm: mill feasibility, minimum lot, production lead time, price
- Smelting to your window with full traceability, 3.1 MTC as standard
Typical Custom Requests
- Die and tooling steels with tight hardness bands
- High-temperature Cr-Mo-V grades for power equipment
- Boron steels for wear parts requiring hardenability
- Chemistry tweaks to standard grades for specific weldability needs
Quality Documents
Whatever your agreement specifies: full mechanical test matrix, UT levels, grain size, hardenability (Jominy) curves. Custom means the paperwork matches the requirement, not a standard template.
Questions Buyers Ask
Q: What is the minimum order? A: Depends how far the chemistry sits from a running grade - sometimes half a ton, sometimes a heat. Ask first; we answer straight.
Q: Lead time? A: Typically 30-60 days for mill production, faster if a near grade is on the rack.
Start the conversation with the application, not just the chemistry - half the time we find a stocked grade that does the job cheaper.
