Bulletproof Steel Plate

FD400/FD500/FD550 Bulletproof Steel Plate

FD series bulletproof steel plate with hardness 360-450 HB up to 480-560 HB, tested for F400-F550 protection levels.

The FD series is bulletproof plate graded by what it stops: FD400, FD500 and FD550 correspond to nominal protection levels F400 through F550. Hardness runs from 360 HB up past 550 HB across the range, and thickness follows the threat. We would rather help you pick the right level than sell the thickest plate.

Grades and Standards

  • FD400: hardness around 360-430 HB, protection level F400
  • FD500: 480-560 HB range, level F500
  • FD550: the top of the series, level F550

Sizes and Supply

  • Thickness 4-80 mm, widths 1000-2200 mm
  • Waterjet cutting to panel drawings; edge quality matters ballistically

Quality Documents

Questions Buyers Ask

Q: Which level do I need? A: Start from the threat definition (weapon, ammunition, distance), not the plate catalog. We map threats to levels every week and will walk you through it.
Q: Weight is a problem - options? A: Thinner high-hardness plates, or composite solutions with polymer interlayers; both trade cost against weight.
Send the threat spec and target weight per square meter - the grade and thickness come out of that conversation.
